They brought their guns
We bring our voices
They choose violence
We tried to make better choices
But Peace was never
meakness
or weakness
and if anything this week has
shown
is a people who have been
wronged
who’s oppression has been far too many years
prolonged
who’ve been made to feel like they’ve never
belonged
And been told
“Be quiet”,
“You’re too sensitive”,
“Just play along”
Are sick and tired of their
excuses
And how they used us
And how they flung their abuses
The ones they never realized brought the match to the fuses
And BOOM
Go the bombs with the privilege they
packed
And the pedestal they sat on is showing it’s
cracked
So despite what they and their base have
believed
what they think they did to us, what they think they’ve
achieved
They’re about to see a rising of which they never
conceived
All because they
just
didn’t
listen
when all we said was
“I cant breathe… please stop”
