So you’re an Actor.

You want to work as an Actor. You want to make your living as an Actor. You don’t see yourself doing anything else.

That’s great! But what happens once you’ve made that choice?

Well, there’s the usual:

  1. Headshots
  2. Build your resume
  3. Work
  4. Join the Union/s, if you can or want to.
  5. Find an Agent/Manager, or both.

That last one is a touchy one. Because you want to work, and hopefully work a butt-load! In order to do that, you might need to have a Manager, Agent, or both to represent you and get you in to those precarious stressful situations known as auditions. They can reach places you can’t. Like a tall person who can reach that special bag of chips on the top shelf of the grocery aisle. Short people know the #struggleisreal.

But how do you get one of those Agents or Managers?

The Acting world is full of advice on how to do it. Just try typing in how to get an acting agent into Google and you’ll get like a bajillion results.

But if you don’t want to spend, or have, the time to go through all the results, it basically comes down to this. GET. STARTED.

You won’t get what you want by wishing for it. Santa won’t deliver you an Agent. No matter how many times you visit that dude in the mall and ask him year, after year, for one until he won’t let you sit on his lap anymore because you’re heavy and that time is for “the kids”! …… Sorry, blacked out there a sec.

You want an Agent? Go get one. Reach out. Get started. You want a Manager? Get started.

Your dreams will stay dreams until you make the choice to 5, 4, 3, 2, 1  launch!

We live in an exciting time where the old rules of the past are fading. Just, Get Started.

Reach out. Because those who created greatness in their lives rarely ever followed the rules. They made their own.

“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.”

– Walt Disney
